Diakonie Campus
Das Zusammenspiel von vier Gebäudegruppen verleiht dem Campus der Diakonie seine neue Ordnung und Qualität.
Mit seiner schlichten kubischen U-Form ergänzt das Alten- und Pflegeheim den bestehenden Straßenraum und öffnet sich mit den Gemeinschaftsnutzungen zum Innenbereich des Campus.
Das Ensemble aus Kirche, Behindertenheim und dem Bestandsgebäude tritt von der Straße zurück, gibt damit einem öffentlichen Platz Raum und leitet in den Innenbereich des Campus über. Hier ruht inmitten des Parks das alte Backsteingebäude, das um einen Glasanbau erweitert wird. Nach Süden wird der Innenbereich durch einen Gebäuderiegel mit Kindergarten im Erdgeschoss und Seniorenwohnungen in den Obergeschossen begrenzt.

Diakonie Campus
The interaction of four different buildings invests the Diakonie campus with a new order and quality.
With its plain cubic U-shape, the old people’s-cum-nursing home completes the existing street space in Gerresheimerstraße and An der Icklack with its common utilisation areas opening onto the interior space of the Campus.
The ensemble with church, housing for the disabled and the office-building in Langer Straße 2, is set back from the street at a strategic point to form a public place and lead into the interior area of the Campus. The historical brick building is located in the middle of the park, enlarged by a glass extension. On the south side, the interior area is defined by a building housing a nursery on the ground floor level and accommodation for the elderly on the upper levels.
